Friday, June 27th, voguers from across the state of New Mexico will steal your hearts and tips during the Heist at the Museum Vogue Exhibition Ball at FUSION | 708. This competitive dance event will have you hooting and hollering as you watch dancers be vetted LIVE by notable judges to battle for seven trophies.

Come at 6 PM for the happy hour mixer and get ready to learn a move or two as the cast demonstrates the five elements of vogue at the top of the show! The ball starts at 8 PM sharp. Stick around for the after-party after the show!

We are putting your allyship skills to the test as we raffle off prizes at our Blaq Pride Challenge tent and Blaq Pride hour on the Main Stage. We teamed up with True Colors, UNM's Black Queer Student Org and the Chocolate Factory, NM's only all Black Drag Troupe to create an interactive art exhibit and minute-to-win-it games. There will be giveaways every hour with prizes from Nexus Brewery, Self Serve, Bad Bunny Bondage, and more!

Get a sneak peek of the Black to the Future Drag show during our Blaq Pride hour 3:30-4:30pm on the Main stage. There will be performances from Avery Martini (@EasyAvery), Dyonne Dahl (@Dyonnedahl), Imani Martini (@Shes_imani) and Dj Muvazaddy (@djmuvazaddy).

Roll through Curious Toast Cafe (718 Central Ave SW, ABQ NM 87102) from 11 am - 1:30 pm for free coffee and pastries (for those who register), to meet local creatives, to take a moment to work on your own creative project, and/or to learn about these upcoming artist centric events.

What is The Artist Blend?

The Artist Blend is an exclusive space for artistic expression and collaboration nestled in the heart of Downtown ABQ.

Who is it for?

If you’ve ever asked yourself, “where can I connect with local creatives” or “where can I set aside some time to work on my creative project” this is for YOU.

What can I expect?

Each event is a little different, but all of them allow time for you to meet new artists, work on your latest project(s), and/or learn a new creative medium.

This Synthesis* X Syndicate collab is a special one as it features an all Black DJ lineup with sound makers who know how to make ya dance.

*Synthesis Theory (@synthesis_theory_abq) is an event that uplifts BIPOC Queer DJ’s through the expression of sound and music created by Anjo King. Synthesis’ vision of uplifting Queer BIPOC Djs and The Syndicate’s vision of celebrating all things Black & Queer perfectly aligns and should make for a truly memberable way to bring in 2023.

The Line Up:

Muvazaddy is an emerging DJ from Baltimore, Maryland. They play global house music and coast to coast nostalgic hip hop. You may have heard them play on the local NPR station KUNM or at previous Syndicate events.

Anjo King’s DJ roots are based in Afro diasporic rhythms spanning from Afrobeats to underground club music. King exposes audiences to new and old sounds of intersecting rhythmic patterns, expanding genre’s crafting unique dance experiences.

Shawna B. is a high vibrating earthling coming to ABQ from ATX. SB draws musical inspiration from the slow loud and bangin' sounds from the 3rd coast, the r&b x soul music ya mama and them listen to, and all things that make you drop it low and sweep the floor.

Coquitopapi is caribeña raised in the south and southwest. inspired by history, heritage, and community- bringing music from all corners of the black diaspora including (but not limited to) jersey club, dancehall, and reggaeton.

Janelle Monae's Dirty Computer Visual Album sets the literal backdrop of the party highlighting her artistic take on afro-futurism through a queer black lens. 

This fully immersive afro-futuristic experience sets the scene for uninhibited dance,  signature drink specials, and the celebration of black women artists from the past, present, and future. 

The future has been a lot of things...it's been as hopeful as it is dreadful, beautiful as it is bleak, but at this day party we celebrate what is also true: The Future Been Black.
